»Rights Approaches to the Protection of Biological Diversity in Public International Law« Effective protection of biodiversity is today more urgent than ever. Nils Wegner explores in his work current approaches in international law that aim to mobilize individuals and groups to enforce the law and thereby make a contribution to the protection of biological diversity. Besides classical human rights approaches, the focus is on the legal positions guaranteed by the so called Aarhus Convention as well as on the legal position of indigenous and local communities in the Nagoya Protocol.
