Dietmar Seyffert was born in 1943 in Liberitz (Germany). He is a graduate of the world-famous choreographic studio Paluccaschule in Leiptzig and Leningrad Conservatory (ballet-master department). In 1962-1985 Dietmar Seyffert became a soloist, then choreographer and stage director of the Staatsoper Berlin (since 1969 he worked as a choreographer and stage director in Cairo, Egipt). Simultaneously, since 1979 he was a producer and chief choreographer of the Opernhaus Leipzig ballet company. At the same time he was teaching at the choreography department of the Theaterhochschule ¿Hans Otto, ¿ Leipzig. In 1988 Dietmar Seyffert became a professor of the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst ¿Ernst Busch¿ in Berlin. As a stage director and choreographer he worked at many opera and ballet stages of the world, particularly, in Basel, Berlin, Leningrad, London, Moscow, Vienna, San-Francisco, New-York, Mexico City, Calcutta, New Delhi, Tokyo, etc. He was president (next after Yuri Grigorovich) of the International Center ITI Unesco, Paris, and a member of the board of the national Theater Association. Dietmar Seyffert was awarded gold medals and major awards of national and international competitions. He has staged such ballets as ¿The Rite of Spring¿, ¿Naked King¿, The Flight of Birds, ¿ ¿La Fille mal gardée, " "Les trois mousquetaires." Dietmar Seyffert published a large number of scientific and research works. Dietmar Seyffert¿s film ¿The God¿s Clown¿ won the principal award at the Venice Film Festival - Golden Lion. Dietmar Seyffert lives in Berlin.
