After 30 years a new intensive study on the life, work and theology of the apostle Paul. International research on Paul has led to significant changes in the view on Paul. This includes his theological profile (especially the New Perspective on Paul) but also the social und cultural context in which Paul worked as a missionary and founded communities. Of central importance for all aspects of the new idea of Paul is the comprehension, that traditional anti Jewish interpretations are not plausible any more. They are replaced by Paul, as a missionary of peoples on the basis of his Jewish identity and within a Jewish environment of his time. This book provides a synopsis of the new international perspective on Paul, scrutinizing the new finings as well as the traditional interpretations.
