Fritz Schwegler (1935-2014) was a sculptor, poet, painter, and musician, and was a professor at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf from 1972 to 2001. As a teacher and personality he influenced artists such as Katharina Fritsch, Thomas Huber, Martin Honert, or Gregor Schneider. He was one of the artists who exhibited at the legendary documenta 5 curated by Harald Szeemann, yet he remained an insiders' tip despite his exhibition activity.
