»The Form of Democratic Legitimacy«: The book formulates an own definition of democratic legitimacy, which is based on two fundamental distinctions: individuals vs. community, and formal vs. material decision-making. That definition is then used as the conceptual base for a critique of the leading theory of democratic legitimacy in German constitutional law. The expressed critique further connects that current theory to the specifically German historic evolution in the understanding of two concepts: sovereignty and people.
