»German Archival Science and the >Third Reich<« For too long, the discipline of archival science - often ignored by institutionalized historical science and perceived as merely an »auxiliary science« - has been a desideratum in the field of research. This is especially true of the review of the discipline's Nazi past. In this study, the close analysis of said past is also embedded in a narrative of an archival history of the first half of the 20th century, revealing astonishing continuities.
