Siding with Austria, they forced him into a dangerous isolation, and thereby into the Italian alliance. He seceded openly from the Bund, and proposed a German Parliament for the purpose of reorganising Germany, Austria excluded, thus going back to the results of 1848. The two parties are consequently avowedly Austria and the Princes against Frus sia and German and Italian national unity.
