Der 49. Band der interdisziplinären Zeitschrift enthält 8 allgemeine Beiträge. Diese befassen sich mit dem Schicksal ausgewählter paläolithischer Bildsteine aus der Dordogne, herstellungstechnischen Beobachtungen an trojanischen Fuchsschwanzketten und Idolanhängern, dem Bronzesegment eines spätbronzezeitlichen Wagenrades aus Kemnitz, einem etruskischen Blechblasinstrument [lituus] der Sammlung Richard Zschille, vier Vlfberht-Schwertern des 10. Jh. im Berliner Museum für Vor- und Frühgeschichte, Otto Tischler und seinen Beiträgen zur antiken Glasproduktion, dem Museum Alfred-Danicourt und der Stadt Péronne im Ersten Weltkrieg sowie mit "Kunstschutz im Zeichen des totalen Krieges" und dem Wirken J. A. von Reiswitz' und W. Unverzagts in Serbien bis 1944. The 49th volume of the interdisciplinary journal contains eight papers dealing with the fate of selected Palaeolithic stone reliefs from Dordogne, observations of the production technique of loop-in-loop chains and idol pendants from Troy, the bronze segment of a Late Bronze Age waggon wheel from Kemnitz, an Etruscan brass wind instrument [lituus] in the collection of Richard Zschille, four Vlfberht swords of the 10th cent. in the Museum of Pre- and Protohistory in Berlin, Otto Tischler and his publications and experiments on ancient glass production, the Musée Alfred-Danicourt and the town of Péronne in World War I, as well as the "protection of artworks in total war" and the work of J. A. von Reiswitz and W. Unverzagt in Serbia until 1944. This is followed by the annual reports 2016 on the work of the Museum of Pre- and Protohistory in Berlin, on figures, dates and facts of the year in the museum, on the work of the German Association of Archaeology [DVA] and the Commission for the Investigation of Collections of Archaeological Finds and Documents in North-Eastern Central Europe [KAFU], by reports on four research projects of the museum and four reviews.
